Happy Valentine's Day

To all the couples: This is a day to cherish the people in your life that you hold near and dear. Embrace the LOVE and delight you bring to each other. AND yes getting all the nice gifts to brag about with your friends is sweet but really take time to let that special someone, your VALENTINE, know how much you care. Deny thy father and refuse thy name.

To all the single people: I just want to let you know Love is a battlefield and I strongly don't advise you to get back with your ex-s or date some random just for one day of Over sized teddy bears, Helium filled balloons, candy treats, and flowers. This day comes and goes every year and I promise you can survive another regular day (that people just like to commercialize) alone. This is also I perfect day to show LOVE to yourself.

Beastly- the movie

Seventeen year old Kyle is the spoiled, shallow and incredibly popular prince of his high school kingdom. Entirely captivated and empowered by his own physical appearance, Kyle foolishly chooses Kendra, a witch masquerading as a high school student, as his latest target for humiliation. Unfazed by his cruel behavior, Kendra decides to teach him a lesson – she transforms him into someone as unattractive on the outside as he is on the inside.  Now he has one year to find someone who can see past the surface and love him, or he will remain “Beastly” forever.  His only hope, a quiet classmate he never noticed named Lindy, may be his best chance to prove that love is never ugly. Sounds like a great movie.

Juicebox

Somethin' bout the way. Somethin' bout the way you look in my eyes, You make everything so damn easy, So easy that I don't got to worry about a thing And baby when we touch, All I can see is the image of us, Sittin' by the ocean, just before the dusk, Sippin' on a juicebox, with sand between our toes. -        AJ Rafael

Not just Dancing

Not only is dancing a hobby it is a passion. It is an exercise for the heart and soul. I need to dance to express my feeling and the inner power of me. Every dance I do is a type of strength. There is ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop-all different yet all me. Seeing is deceiving, dreaming is believing.

Book: One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest

I am reading 'One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest' by Ken Kesey for my English II Honors class. It is about "Chief" Bromden, a schizophrenic  Native American man who pretends to be deaf and dumb so that everybody ignores him, narrates  One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. The novel begins the morning that a new "Admission," Randle McMurphy, is introduced to an insane asylum where Chief is the longest-residing patient. McMurphy is larger than life, intelligent, and observant. He stirs up the ward immediately by introducing friendly competition – gambling – and encourages the men to rebel against the petty rules created and enforced by Nurse Ratched (often referred to as "Big Nurse"). McMurphy places a bet with the other men on the ward that he can break Nurse Ratched without: a) getting sent to the Disturbed Ward, b) getting treated with electroshock therapy, or c) being lobotomized. Slowly, McMurphy undermines Nurse Ratched’s system of control while remaining Mr. Nice Guy. She’s no fool, however. What McMurphy doesn’t understand is that Nurse Ratched has a lot of control over the situation. Since he’s a patient in the asylum, she can keep him locked up as long as she wants. As long as he’s under her rule, she has the power to send him for electroshock therapy or a lobotomy. The question is simply whether she’ll utilize her power against him or not. When McMurphy figures this out, he steps back and begins to behave – but not for long [source:http://www.shmoop.com/one-flew-over-cuckoos-nest/summary.html]

Gym Class

Today in Gym, we dressed out for the first time (my sweats were very comfy) we stretched and then walked to the track. Everyone had to go around the track twice. The first time my friend Maya and I speed walked and the second time we jogged. It was really fun even though I was out of breath. When we finished we went back to the gym and played jump rope and let me tell you....I have not lost a beat! lol I had a pretty good time until I got bored, the rest of the period we just sat and watched the other kids play basketball, volleyball, and jump rope.
